Chris Whyld


As a professional actor Chris has performed in various venues across London and the UK, including The New Wimbledon Theatre, Arcola Theatre, Gate Theatre, Unicorn Theatre, Young Vic and National Theatre.  He has embraced many acting genres from Shakespeare to a national tour of Noddy and Friends in which he played Big Ears and Mr Plod.

Chris is also a qualified teacher having gained his PGCE in 1997 from Lancaster University.  Since then he has been a head of department at Colombo International School in Sri Lanka, subject co-ordinator at one of London's leading Preparatory Schools and the Drama co-ordinator at a number of infants and primary schools across London.

In 2008, Chris founded teacheract to combine his two passions - teaching and drama.  Over the last eight years Chris and his team of actor-teachers have developed a reputation for inspiring children through drama - helping them with confidence, communication and creativity.

Presently, Chris is Head of Drama at Streatham and Clapham High School in London and is studying for an MA in Text and Performance at RADA and Birkbeck University.
